Alison Bacchus

Medical Assistant and Office Manager

Alison received her Medical Assistant Certification from Maric College in 2004. She began working as a Medical Assistant at a family practice in Clayton and, from there, she worked at a family practice in Pleasant Hill. In 2009 she joined the John Muir Lafayette Internal and Family Medicine practice. It is there that she met and began working alongside Dr. Simmons.

“I have worked directly and indirectly with Dr. Simmons for 14 years. I have seen how he has cared so thoroughly for each one of his patients. I have seen him go above and beyond for each one of them time and time again. The way he cares for his patients is what every patient needs. I have seen systems try to tie his hands and not let him practice medicine the way he wants, and time and time again he pushed back against those systems in order to care for his patients.” -Alison

She is attentive and compassionate, organized and hard-working. She is a natural caregiver who works hard to develop strong relationships with each patient.

Alison grew up in Concord. She is a lover of all sports and has coached youth volleyball since 1999 for Diablo Valley Volleyball Club. Alison is married to a loving and supportive husband, and she has 2 amazing stepchildren. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling anywhere that has a beach, reading and watching movies.

“There are a lot of things that I enjoy as a Medical Assistant. I love developing relationships with my patients. I love learning about their families and their life experiences. I also find it very rewarding being a part of each patient’s medical journey, big or small. My hope is that every interaction I have with each patient makes them feel comfortable and well taken care of.”

Nathalie Rodriguez

Medical Assistant

Hello everyone, I’m Nathalie, and I’m thrilled to embark on this new journey with Dr. Simmons’ team. With three years of experience as a medical assistant, specializing in fertility care, I’m excited to broaden my horizons by delving into a different field such as internal medicine.

Growing up in Martinez, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for community and connection.

Currently pursuing a degree in psychology, I’m driven by my passion for making a positive impact on others’ lives. I believe in the importance of personalized care, recognizing that every individual who walks through our doors brings a unique history and set of needs. No two cases are alike, and I’m committed to providing each patient with the attention and support they deserve.

I’m inspired by Dr. Simmons’ dedication to individualized care, and I’m eager to contribute to this culture of compassion and growth.
